How to control flipping movement on hover

I really like this plugin. I’ve managed to set it up successfully on a subsite in my multisite install.

There is just one problem: the “flipping” motion is too quick, regardless of which hover style is chosen.

Because of the super quick “flip”, the elegant movement it is meant to exhibit is totally lost and comes out as a “cheap flip”.

Is there a was to control the speed of the “flip”?
