    Hi all,
I want to get my small ecommerce website compliant with GDPR. At the moment when someone buys a product their details are stored in the WOocommerce Orders tab. How can this data be automatically removed after 30 days?
    Thanks

GDPR doesn’t specifically state that you need to remove customer data after 30 days. In fact, even if you delete customers, their data will still be stored in the WooCommerce orders – you’ll often need that information for your own administration, such as tax declarations.

I recommend doing some more reading, and consulting with a lawyer as needed. Here’s a good place to get started:

GDPR says something about only holding data for as long as you need it. I have an online florist website. When a user places an order on the website I get emailed their address etc… I then send them their order. After that I dont need to hold on to their details. At this point I should delete the email (with their details) and the order record in Woocommerce? Or should I just – once a month – delete all orders for that month. Or should I just not delete anything? 🙂
I will consult a lawyer, Im just trying to cover the basics first. (Adding a cookie notification etc…)

What you are looking for is a setting in WooCommerce 3.4: https://woocommerce.wordpress.com/2018/05/04/woocommerce-3-4-gdpr-features/

That’s the best approach as local legislation will vary when it comes to keeping order information for accounting purposes 🙂
