    Hello there!

    We want to add a payment method, but want to avoid adding any extra plugins for this. So for example, it would say;

    “Pay via cash transfer” – send your money to 12345abc@testmail.com

    Is there anyway to do this? This is specifically for a payment method called E-transfer. There is a plugin for this, but it has not been updated in 3 years which is a security concern.

    Or perhaps, edit the options which are shown by default such as “CASH” and we can rename that to our liking? Thanks for your help!

  • Hi @gregthegreg5,

    Thank you for reaching out.

    You can take advantage of the ‘Direct Bank Transfer’ (BACS) payment option that comes with WooCommerce by default.

    Here are the steps:

    1. Navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments.
    2. Enable ‘Direct Bank Transfer’ and click ‘Set Up’.
    3. In the ‘Title’ field, you can change it to ‘Pay via cash transfer’.
    4. In the ‘Instructions’ field, you can add the details such as “Send your money to 12345abc@testmail.com”.

    You can learn more from this detailed guide.

    Please note that this is a manual process, and you’ll need to manually mark each order as ‘completed’ once you’ve confirmed the payment.

    Or perhaps, edit the options which are shown by default such as “CASH” and we can rename that to our liking?

    As for renaming the default “CASH” option, unfortunately, this can’t be done without modifying the core WooCommerce files, which we don’t recommend as it may lead to compatibility issues with future updates.

    I hope this helps!
