    update:

I have been using the following page:

    http://www.webhostingsearch.com/articles/post-specific-sidebars-wordpress-tutorial.php

I have got up to Step 2 but my theme doesn’t seem to actually have a sidebar.php

Should it always have one? If not, what can I do?

I think your sidebar should be provided for in the theme. If you go to Appearances > Widgets, you should be able to drag a text widget into the sidebar. If you can’t do that, you should pick a different theme. I am assuming that the vast majority of themes support a “widget-ready”, widget-drag-and-drop sidebar.

Next time you post a question like this, please tell us what theme you are using. Also tell whether your blog is free and hosted by WordPress directly, or you are hosting your blog on a seperate server with which you have access to the files for your theme and site. Everything you need to know may depend upon that detail. Good luck.

Hi MTPrower. I am using the “Fullscreen” theme.

My blog is hosted on the link above.

I do have widget ready sidebars in this theme but want to add a custom sidebar to particular pages.
