What do you exactly mean by “attach” a file image?
It should work automatically if you insert the image normally, using the built-in WordPress editor. How are you inserting this image exactly?

Also it would be better to contact the Simple Lightbox plugin developers as we do not offer support for other third party plugins and this is not a theme related question.
