I have checked “Use WP Cron to Schedule autoposts”
I have checked “Limit autoposting speed”
I have set “Do not autopost more than one post per network every” to 2 hours
I have set “Randomize posting time” to 10 minutes

So how come when authors put up a post, it gets auto-posted to social networks immediately, with no regard for the 2 hours setting? If they publish 5 articles from 7am to 8am, chances are all 5 of them will go out to the social networks as soon as the items are published. Shouldn’t the auto-poster know that it needs to wait 2 hours from the previous one before sending out a new one?

Just checking back on this, anyone have any ideas?

As far as I can tell all is correct. I even had the host switch it to linux CRON instead of WP Cron, and the problem still exists. Posts are going up as soon as articles are published, with no regard for the time setting I have entered.

Same issue here, in addition to that, I’m unable to check “Log Cron Events” in “Debug/Report Settings” section. Did you found a solution?

I’m sorry, how is this “resolved” when there’s no solution in the thread?
I’m having exactly the same problem. auto post is disregarding the limit settings.

    Please advise.

It was never resolved for me. We just stopped using the plugin and decided to use https://ifttt.com/ for posting instead. I would have liked to use this plugin, but without someone who can really dig into why the scheduler didn’t work it was easier to just uninstall and use something else.

    Hi Friar,
thanks for prompt reply. Can you limit the rate of post using ifttt? We’ve turned to SNAP only because of this feature, but it doesn’t seem to work.

    The solution is here: http://www.nextscripts.com/tutorials/wp-cron-scheduling-tasks-in-wordpress/

Once you setup your WP Cron to be stable it will work fine.

    Hi NextScripts,
thanks for your reply. I’m setting up the wp-cron as per your guide, but I’d like to point out two things:
    – You should add this question to your FAQ and/or make it clear in the plugin settings page that it required to have wp-cron running not on page load in order for autoposting speed (maybe “rate” is better?) limit to work
    – Log cron events is not working properly. After you have checked the check box and updated settings, it’s unchecked again and nothing related to cron shows up in the logs.

I’ll let you know, if this feature is working after I observe it for some hours.

    Thanks again.

    NextScripts,
the autoposts are still not speed limited and being posted to FB (for example) as they are posted in WP.
“Log Cron Events” not working, so I cannot debug it.
    Please advise.
