    Hi,

Gust stores markdown in post meta field ‘_md’ and HTML in post_content. If no markdown is stored for a post, then markdown is generated from post_content. I’ll have to check how „Markdown on Save Improved“ and „Markdown Plus“ store it to confirm compatibility.

There is no way to “manage” medias in Gust, there is, however, a way to add image to the text by typing ![title] in markdown editor. An upload zone will then show up in preview pane. This is the same behavior as Ghost has. Media manager is on the road map, but I can not give you any ETA on it yet.

Also, about the managing part – you can still use regular wp-admin to manage media, as it stays active. You go to domain.com/wp-admin or regular dashboard, and to domain.com/gust for Gust.

UPDATE: Gust works with „Markdown on Save Improved“, but if a post is saved in Gust, „Markdown on Save Improved“ will only see the html.

In the next release, Gust will be able to import markdown from „Markdown on Save Improved“, when the user first opens the post in Gust.

Thanks for the precisions. So after modifying the content generated in Markdown on Save, I suppose these modifications cannot be seen in Markdown on Save. Only in Gust post Markdown content.

„Markdown on save“ has an option to convert from HTML. You can use that.

Well, I don’t like it very much 🙂 OK

    Hi,

excuse me for commenting on this issue, that was already marked as resolved.

I have doubts about the way the plugin saves the post content.

You notice above that a meta value _md is created for a post. My question is: If I edit a post in gust, this meta field is added to the post and then the post content is “baked” and stored in html form? What happens if I later use the standard WP dashboard to edit the html, is the _md field updated and maintained up-to-date with the new post_content value?

As much as I love the gust editor, I need to know that compatibility (backwards, as you explain in this thread, but also forwards, as gust needs to co-exist with the standard editor) is assured.

    Hi, Jose,

At the moment, _md is generated only once. But I will change this behavior in next release.

Thanks for the reply, I did the test in my blog and found that whenever I used Gust, then Standard editor, then Gust again, the changes made in the standard editor appeared in my Gust screen, so somehow the plugin manages to read the updated version, but it will be more interesting if we can hook into the update post process and re-bake the _md when necessary, to keep it up-to-date with post_content 🙂

Thanks for your plugin, I really love the idea of running this on my blog itself, and not just in a test site ;D
