I am only familiar with themes Twenty Fourteen, Fifteen, and Sixteen…
But I guess all the admins should be similar… so on the left hand side..
you have all the plugins etc.. And you hover over Events and you don’t get a popup to show all the options ?
Or if you click on the Events and it doesn’t show on the left….. Add Event ?
If not… try a link like this and see if you get to add and event…

@sanchell2 In that case it sounds like there could be some files missing (faulty upload / download)? I’d try reinstalling the plugin.
Before doing that, it would be worth testing with all other plugins deactivated and while running the default WordPress theme. It could be there’s a conflict somewhere.
