How do I point to Database entries?

Hi there

Very new to this so here goes. Im creating a test database to hold customer data. I have created a few test fields in mysql but how do i access and show these through wordpress.

What i am trying to create is a web based database where certain people can VIEW only the customers and others can CREATE customers.

I’m assuming you can do this in wordpress as its something to do with php calling the database?
