How do I enable lazy load?

As mentioned in the following link, I can’t get the plugin to work on anything else than the featured images. https://wordpress.org/support/topic/works-for-featured-images-but-not-post-images?replies=1
But, the outputted HTML I see here, makes me wonder if it is even possible to make any of the Lazy Load plugins work with this plugin?
Is fine and fancy that I can turn src into srcset, but if that means that I have to fetch all images on the page in the initial load of the page, then it will turn out to be worse for my pageload than when I am able to use lazy load.
