How complete is the WP export function?

    Hi guys….. I have a client who is using a VERY difficult host to work with & I believe they are trying to make it hard for them to move hosts…. currently they don’t have access to their FTP or databases & have been quoted $195 AUD to make a backup of the files & database & won’t give them access to do it themselves.

    So was wondering what exactly does the WP export give you? Does it contain all the required database details needed to rebuild the site/blog on a new WP installation?

    the export gives you posts, pages, cats, etc. – plus comments and authors if you choose

    it does not store details like the database backup would – like permalink structure…theme being used , plugins installed, etc.
