How can I verify ping worked?

I am having issues verifying that ping is actually working when I post. For instance I have the following in my Update Services list:
http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping
http://ping.feedburner.com
http://rpc.pingmore.com

Yet Technorati never seems to get the ping. I continually have to manually ping them. Is there a way to “see” in logs or something where the ping got sent out? I am having doubts that my ping is working properly.
