houdini effect

I am not sure this is a WordPress problem but this is the beginning of my search. I went to log in to my WordPress to post an entry using the bookmark I always use, but it came up as a failed yahoo search. I tried entering the address manually with the same result. This is using Firefox browser. So I tried it on IE, same result. I checked on my web host account to see if everything there was OK, everything was just as I left it, no problem there. It may be a windows settings problem or maybe something with the browsers. I am not sure what is wrong. I am thinking it may be a windows settings problem, If you know or have a good idea please help, this is really irritating.
