Hosting with wordpress

    HI all

    just downloaded with the blog hosted by wordpress. Wanted to know, if I purchase seperate hosting and purchase a different domain but still use wordpress as the hosting platform, is it possible to move the contents to the new host?

    Hope this makes sense

    also, if i go for the free version over at wordpress.com, is it also able to transfer across to my own hosted version?

    Why would you need both?

    If you want a free blog at wp.COM – they can answer you all your questions there: http://en.forums.wordpress.com/
    You sign up and you are good to go.

    Here we address only questions related to self hosted blogs that use the script downloaded from wp.ORG (this site). If you have your own domain AND your own hosting package you do NOT need wp.com.

    Regardless, the answer is still yes. You can export your posts and comments from a wordpress.com blog and import them into your own self-hosted blog.
