Hostgator and Worpress

Hi: I just opened a domain name this morning and am hosting it with hostgator.com. I was using Fantastico Delux to install wordpress on my new domain site. all went well with the installation and it gave me the link with my site/wp-admin. when I clicked on it, the admin login page did not come up. What??? Does it take time once the installation is done to the time of actually showing up as a real site that I can access the admin login???
