• Hi All,

Ive got my site all setup and ready to go, I set up wordpress via the application install within parallels plesk. This installed wordpress in a sub directory.

Now I have the website ready to launch, I have followed a couple of online tutorial on moving the setup to a root directory. So that I can simply type in the domain name to bring up the site with out the reference of wordpress on the end.

Its close to working in that if I type in http://www.mydomain.com/home then is bring up the website, or if I type in http://mydomain.com/ (as per the wordpress and site URL address in the general settings tab) it also brings up my home page.

BUT….when I simply type in http://www.mydomain.com, it doesnt work

Please, any ideas where I could be going wrong?

    Thanks

I do not know the answer to your question, but my own experience might suggest a solution. A couple of weeks ago, I moved a site from root to a sub-folder at BlueHost, then placed an .htaccess file in root to direct to that folder and never had to do anything at all with the site address or any file in the new sub-folder. So, I am guessing it might be possible for you to leave your site in the sub-folder and do the same.
