Support » Plugin: Yoast SEO » Home settings lost after update

  • Yesterday, I updated the Yoast plug-in (along with several others). One of the other plug-ins broke the site and I had to deactivate the plug-ins I’d just updated in order to isolate the problem.

Today, I noticed that the home page yoast SEO settings had been reset. My custom settings were gone. Would the update or the deactivation have done this? How to prevent that in the future?

Custom yoast seo settings on the other pages were fine.

  • Same problem here, I think the latest release is not ok. For me my custom setting are gone, and no meta description for categories archives!
I’v tried to downgrade to older versions but the problem continues..
Hope the developer fixes this issue.

    Me as well,

All the setting were lost after the update. What’s worse is that after re-entering the settings, I went back in an hour later and the were missing yet again. Something seems wrong with this update.

I’v downgraded to version 1.4.25 and it works perfectly!
You can download it from this link:

    Good luck!

Same here. All my settings have been reset… I noticed this when sharing links on Facebook… Ugh, to downgrade do I just overwrite the plugin files with the previous version?

    Hi Kevin Ryman.
You can overwrite the plugin files, but I think it’s better to deactivate then delete it, and then upload in install the old version.
    Good luck!
