Hi Emil –
I saw your post on the other possible layouts for the home page. I like http://themeid.com/demo/responsive/page-templates/content-sidebar/
This is what we have now:
http://www.ascendzaceocenter.com/How do I change it so the widgets are on the RH side?
Thanks,
ToveAlso, on the current home page, is it possible to move things up, so the Download Now button is seen right away, instead of having to scroll down.
Thanks,
TovePlease post your questions on http://themeid.com/forum
I just set up a wordpress site and chose Responsive for my theme.
Can I change the layout of the homepage so the 3 widgets are above the big box – rather than below it?
I’ve seen where there are supposed to be 9 layout designs for responsive, but I can’t figure out how to change the layout of the home page.Hi LindaHardesty,
hehe, not supposedly, it does have, however they’re Page Template layouts such as:
- http://themeid.com/demo/responsive/page-templates/sidebar-content/
- http://themeid.com/demo/responsive/page-templates/contentsidebar-half-page/
- etc…
Layout on the home page can be overridden as well, however for something like that I would highly suggest to have a Child Theme first.
Now, copy home.php to your Child Theme and move the sidebar above the featured area. And here’s how home.php looks like with widgets at the top 🙂
Thanks,
EmilAfter installing the Responsive Theme update yesterday my home page suddenly disappeared. It appears many others have experienced this too. I tried a workaround that was suggested by one of the users – i.e., I created a blank page, named it Home then selected it as my static page. This has worked. My concern is that it doesn’t appear CyberChimps is too concerned with actually fixing the code. In the meantime, while the work around allows the theme’s Home page to appear in a PC or laptop environment, it’s not showing up on mobile devices or tablets. Does anyone have any advice as to how to correct this? The site URL is http://www.theadventuresofflapjack.com
I appreciate any feedback you can provide. Thanks in advance!
Thank you for your response. It appears that following others’ suggestions to create a Home page was the correct thing to do afterall. I also appreciate how Cyber Chimps has since responded with updated documentation. It’s been very helpful and has given me great comfort. For a while there I thought I might have to switch themes and start over. One other thing that has turned out well, is that the site’s Home page is now appearing correctly on mobile devices. Yippee! I’m psyched!
