This will be specific to your theme. Usually, post excerpts do not include line breaks or paragraphs.

Have you tried putting in a page break tag in a hand-crafted excerpt? That would be a “
” in the exerpt box in the post editor page below the content area.

If that doesn’t help, you will want to seek support from the theme author, who is in the best position to offer help.
