• Hi

I’ve just moved hosts, and restored my website, but the home page is not displaying correctly. This website was not created by me and I’m not that familiar with WordPress. Some of the text is displayed and the other paragraphs/text is not there.

I’ve been searching for days on how to fix this, but hit dead ends everywhere I look. I’ve tried different themes, and it works. I’ve tried using another page as the static home page, and it works. I’ve tried copying and pasting into another page that I create, and setting the new page as the home page, still doesn’t work.

    Any advise please?

Oh, domain is theotheranimals.co.za and I’m using twenty eleven theme, and wordpress version 4.4.2

  • I looked at your design before you updated in the wayback machine. Your Original design didn’t have a sidebar while your current design does.

If you edit your home page you will find a selection box called templates try setting it to one column and no sidebar. See if it fixes your problem.

    Thanks.

So when I select the “default template” all my text disappears and the 3 boxes below remain. But if I select the “sidebar template” then all my text appears but the 3 boxes at the bottom aren’t in sync.

How do I get my text to display using the default template?

You would have to rewrite the style sheet so the boxes all fit. When you add the sidebar into the mix you make your display area smaller so your content doesn’t fit any longer.

If your using a child theme you create another template and add it to your theme to accomplish this.

I haven’t used this theme for anything so not sure why your content is disappearing. I’m assuming the only difference between the default theme and no sidebar theme is the sidebar.
