• I created a new page (optimizepress3) in the main pages menu and it still automatically goes to the old expired page from a year ago.  I even put that old page in draft form so it should not go to that at all.  Any advice?  I need this done because the client wants the main page to be this url of just [ redundant link removed ] rather than a longer URL. I cleared the cache and have trouble shooted everywhere and followed all advice. We are now on a time crunch. Thank you all in advance.

  • Maybe you’ve defined the page with title ‘AYS3 First Page’ as your homepage.
Did you check Appearence > Customize > Homepage (or something like)?

Yes, I did it that way and in settings. I want AYS3 first page as my home page but it keeps reverting back to whatever page redirected to an expired page a year ago. I was not the page creator a year ago. AYS3 First page should goto an opt in page for a summit. Thank you for responding.

It goes to /expired and not matter what I do it won’t change. However, when I am in the appearance/customize/homepage settings it shows the new page I want it to be.

Now It flashes to the expired page then goes to the page I want but that looks really unprofessional.

I don’t see any flash. Only the ‘Expired’-page is shown.
Looks as if this page is set as the homepage.

BTW: Searching for ‘fyuikjhgfdfghjkhghj’ results in finding a lot a pages of your website, in stead of “Nothing found”. Remarkable.

Thank you for letting me know what you see. The expired page is not set as the homepage in settings or appearance but for some reason it stays as the homepage. I’ve tried everything I can think of, cleared cache, turn it into a draft, deleted it, expired it to redirect to the page I need as the homepage and nothing seems to work.

Can you explain what this means…. I’m not so tech savvy that I understand. “BTW: Searching for ‘fyuikjhgfdfghjkhghj’ results in finding a lot a pages of your website, in stead of “Nothing found”. Remarkable”

For the homepage I’m afraid I can’t help.

For the search-function: the expired page offers the possibility to search your website. However: whatever search-word I’ll fill in, the search-function offers various search-results, having (almost?) nothing to do with the search-word(s).
    Looks like a nonsense-generator 🙂
