Home Page loading and URL issue.

    My web address is home page doesn’t load correctly. The slider never loads and the testimonials widget malfunctions.
    But when I go to another page on the site and then go back to the home page it works correctly.
    I also noticed when I return to the home page from within the site it adds “/word” to the end of the URL.
    How can I fix this? And is this possibly a problem not with WordPress, but with other parts of my website support system?
