home page disappeared

    I don’t know what I did, but now when I go to my WordPress home page, I get a plain text file structure and the words “Index of /wordpress”.

    It sounds as if your index.php is gone. Probably the one in the root folder (not a subfolder).

    Can I just stick another one in? I haven’t really done anything with my blog yet. Which is the root folder? Is it public-html or the one above that?

    root = public_html

    download a fresh copy of WordPress and upload the “short and sweet” index file from the main directory to your server.
