On my websites I use a plugin called “Tag Groups” allowing tags to be assigned to a specified list of group headings. In their “Tag Groups'”back end listing available taxonomies I see that ngg-tag shows up as a possible taxonomy to work with via their plugin. Though the nextGEN tags don’t show up. “Tag Groups” documentation says that some visible taxonomies may not work. Are you familiar with this plugin? Do you know whether it can work? Do you have an effective way to add at least one level of hierarchy to the tags within NG? I am using NG Plus. Thanks for your help.

@direys – The “tags” feature is part of NextGEN Gallery and follows the “tag” taxonomy of WordPress core which does not provide a default hierarchy approach (different for how “categories” are worked with). I am not familiar with the plugin you are using but it would also likely be best to work with its author to see if it can manipulate the NextGEN Gallery tags as well.

As it is, we are not likely going to change the “tag” taxonomy we use to a “category” like taxonomy.

    Thanks!
