    Hey all,

So we have been using the MS config for a good while now and we are happy to report that it has been working well.

We have been noticing that the root directory (say it’s root.com) shows up in Google in tandem with our redirected ip/domain. Is there any way to get rid of root.com showing up in Google without getting into confusing nocrawl stuff?

    Example:
    Our root domain: root.com
One of our multi-site sites: root.com/actualsite
URL used to get to that site: actualsite.com

Is there anyway to hide root.com/actualsite, but NOT actualsite.com from Google?

I can see that in the root wp-admin Dashboard, under Privacy, we can hide THAT from Google, but will that affect all sub directories underneath the root?

Not sure if that makes sense – please let me know if I can clarify anything.

    Thanks so much,
    Chase_C

  • How are you pointing actualsite.com to root.com/actualsite? I believe, if you use something like WordPress MU Domain Mapping, that it is all taken care of automatically.

Only if you check the box but it should be, yeah.

not if they are domainmapped, no. check that box then.

Awesome! We are indeed using the Domain Mapping function built into the MS configuration. So the box shall be checked.

Thanks all for your quick response!
