Hiding Posts/Entries in certain categories

Does WordPress offer the benefit of making entries in some catagories hidden from the main index.php file?

I use delicious and it posts once a day to my site. The posts are categorized in my del.icio.us category which is available for public access, but the posts themselves are somwhat meaningless but serve as a courtesy to my visitors.

So, since the list of links are somewhat long, I would like to have the link posts accessible by clicking the category only.

Is there a way to do that?
