Hiding Fields from Some Authors

    is there a way to hide fields from some authors and not others? For example, I have some custom fields I don’t want everyone to see.

    Also, things like the excerpt field are not useful to any of the contributors, but I’d like admin people to be able to see and use them…

    Anyway to pick and choose what’s available?
