hide image captions in posts

    Seems like a common wish but I can’t find a solution. I want to post a blog post about a photo. The text of the post says what I want to say about the photo, so I don’t want the embedded IPTC caption shown under the photo, it’s redundant.

    I can edit the JPG to remove the caption but that’s just another hoop jump to remember.

    I don’t find any such option in the theme, or in the “Options for Twenty Seventeen” plugin, or CSS to do this.
