Help with Theme configuring.

    Hello.

    I am pretty new to WordPress, although I have used it in the past, but not with many theme choices. I have started using it again and have picked a pretty interesting theme. However, I am at a loss on a few key features.

    I have looked over the admin-panel and the options given, and have even attempted to contact the theme creator ( to no success )

    This is the theme I am using : http://sodacoca.com/Burorama/

    This is my site : http://piratemouse.byte4byte.com/

    As you can see, it doesn’t look anything like the demo of the theme. I am having issues with the rotating image setup, as well as the rest of the site itself.

    Any help would be grateful.

    If it is a new site why do you want to install an old version of WordPress (3.3.1)? Possibly, the theme may not be compatible with it.

    I wasn’t aware of the version that was installed. It was auto installed by the ISP I use when I signed up. I am attempting to install the latest version now and will see if that makes a difference with the theme.

    Okay … Updated version installed.
    Same issue persists.

    However, I seem to have run across this tidbit from the theme website, which I am now assuming, may be the reason why the theme doesn’t work :

    * All of our themes are WordPress 3.1 compatible.

    This makes me sad, but I am guessing I should just continue to look for a theme or figure out if there is a possible way to get it to work.

    You can find over 1600 free themes here: wordpress.org/extend/themes. Just have a look. Possibly some of them will suit you.

    Thank you, Krishna. I will look, but it does sadden me that there isn’t a way to get this one to function. From the looks of it, it just seems like the slide-show ( in the demo ) is what is not working correctly.

    Its either that, or I don’t know where to put the pictures, as I stated before. I will look, but just from my quick over-view, I see many that are pretty just plain and lacking. ( Compared to this theme anyway )

    You can contact the theme author in the above link if you want to continue with the same theme.

    may be the reason why the theme doesn’t work :

    * All of our themes are WordPress 3.1 compatible.

    In view of the above, you need to contact the theme vendor because incompatible themes won’t work and continue to create problems for you.

    And that was my fear when I finally saw that. I have attempted to contact the creator, but haven’t heard anything back.

    Thank you. In light of this, I may look into another program instead. A lot of the themes I have run across for the correct version really haven’t come close to what I am looking for ( and being that I can’t afford to pay anyone at the time – makes it harder to find one that is )

    I have attempted to contact the creator, but haven’t heard anything back.

    You may face it even if you pay for it.
