Help Please, bulletpoints covering text

Hi all , first time poster here and I was wondering if anyone could help me please?

I’m having problems using an image for a bulletpoint, the problem is the image covers part of the text when it should be sitting nicely to the left of the text.

My code looks like this:

.info_box ul li{
	background:transparent url(../images1/dot.png) no-repeat scroll 12px 8px;
	}

and what I am seeing looks like this

What parameters do I have to change to push the bullets to the left? I’m tearing my hair out now, so if anyone could assist me I’d be really grateful.
