Not quite sure which forum to put this. I got it installed and I can get to admin but it won’t render the PHP to present the site. This is a show stopper for me I have to get past to proceed.

    http://sixties60s.com/sixties/

New clean install into sub directory /sixties with mag basic theme. It presents the apache directory listing rather than render the page.

The only reason I installed WP into a sub directory is that I have the present website running from the root with it’s own .htaccess and index.html files while I design WP before I move that content.

I tried editing the index.php file adding /sixties to the link string but made no difference. I tried maxing FTP permissions to no avail.

    Not sure what to do?

    Thanx
    Kicker

Try adding DirectoryIndex index.php index.html index.htm to the top of an .htaccess file in the sixities sub-folder.

    That was it!

You know there is no .htaccess file there to begin with.
So I created one that now has

    DirectoryIndex index.php index.html index.htm

which fixed the problem!! Hear! Here!

Isn’t there suppose to be some REWRITE code and then the WWW thing too in there?

What does a basic .htaccess for WP look like?

    thanx again esmi

Not necessarily. That’s only added if you opt to use custom permalinks.
