    Hi.

Hopefully a simple question. I have a customer who is sending a complex csv that I need to import. They have pretty specific details that need to be spotlit though and I’m not sure how to create custom fields to map to when importing.

Let’s just say as an example, they have a product attribute called “Pattern”. I need to make a field for pattern as none of the existing ones work for that.

I tried creating new attributes and descriptions, etc, but they don’t show up as options when trying to import.

Is there a plugin I need. I have tried googling, but it seems like it’s a tough search to phrase correctly as most of what I find is not actually dealing with what I’m looking for.

Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

As I understand, you’d like to import products with attributes? If not, feel free to explain to us with more details.

If your products are simple, you can use the core WooCommerce import feature with the CSV file format mentioned here https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/product-csv-importer-exporter/#section-1

If your products are variable, we recommend using the premium plugin “Product CSV Import Suite” and closely follow this guide https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/product-csv-import-suite-importing-product-variations/

In the example csv for simple import, every column title that is in the .csv ends up in the “map to field” options. In my example they don’t. Will this plugin help with that?

Can you take a screenshot to show what you’re seeing?

I recommend https://snag.gy for easily sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL here. It works with Chrome, Firefox and IE.

If possible, please upload a CSV file to Dropbox, Google Drive, etc and share the link here. You may want to remove most of the products, just 2 – 3 products in the file are good enough for testing.

Will this plugin help with that?

If your products are NOT variable (aka just products with attributes), you do not need “Product CSV Import Suite”.
