Help? Fails to create directory

    Greetings WP addicts,

    I’m new at WP and since a few days trying to get it to work on 4 domains.

    Installed WP via Fantastico and next upgraded to latest version.
    Installed network according instructions.
    Whatever I try to upload next, be it themes or plugins, I get always the same error.

    Downloading install package from http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/download/morning-coffee.3.4.zip…

    Unpacking the package…

    Could not create directory. /public_html

    I looked online to find a solution but I’m illiterate when it comes to php hence all replies I found were for me a tad too technical.

    The strange thing is that my first installation, when I had a WP installed in its own folder instead of the root and next upgraded to 3.01 (not yet installed the Multisite) I had no problems to install themes.
    I tried today to do this again on another domain but to no avail.

    Would appreciate if someone could tell me what I do wrong.
