Your WordPress theme needs to be in your wp-content/themes/your_theme_name_here folder.
See Using Themes, Stepping Into Templates, and Theme Development.

Oops that requires login…oh well maybe someone else can jump in with a response to your problem.
thanks for taking the time to help 🙂
heres the files for the template from my site:
http://www.brianmcfaddenonline.net/wp-theme.zip
There seems to be two theme folders there–1 and fansites-theme-1.
The fansites-theme-1 theme gives me the same look as your site on my test system (of course it also issues a warning because of the include in line 1 of header.php) and the style.css uses an import from another file.
Might review Stepping Into Templates and Theme Development to help you sort the problems.
i put “1” files in my main part of the site and the “fansites-theme-1” into wordpress themes, its all confusing hahah…. i have had no problems with wordpress on my other site its just this theme which i love hahaha…. aaahh!
i REALLY having no no no luck slightly going insane…. will anyone be able to look at my files if i upload them??
