    Hey Kaira,

    Is there any way to change the background colour of the header and the body of the pages? I’ve tried changing the background colour but that doesn’t affect it (although it does change the body when using the full width layout, but I’m opting for the boxed layout instead).
    I can’t include a link to my site as it’s disabled

    Thanks

  • Hey there Roger,

    Hope you’re well today!

    This should be possible with some custom CSS. Could you please try adding the following CSS to Appearance >> ALBAR Settings >> Styling Settings >> Custom CSS:

    .site-header-one .site-top-bar {
    background-color: #000;
    }

    .site-header .header-bar {
    background-color: #000;
    }

    .header-bar-inner {
    background-color: #000;
    }

    .site-header-one .site-header-right {
    background-color: #000;
    }

    div#primary {
    background: #000;
    }

    This should change background color of the header and content. Replace the color hex value. You can use sites similar to this one to get hex value for the color of your choice:

    Hope this helps ๐Ÿ™‚

    Ah that’s great thanks Bojan.
    Just when I tried it the page header and the sidebar were white. I managed to change the page header by adding:

    .page-header {
    background-color: #000
    }

    But I don’t know how I’d change the sidebar…codes like

    .sidebar1 {
    background-color: #000
    }

    don’t seem to be working.

    I’m new to html so I’m just going by trial and error, but if you could give me the right code that would be great!

    Thanks

    Hey there Roger Berkeley,

    How are you doing today?

    You can change the background color of the sidebar by adding this custom CSS code to Appearance >> ALBAR Settings >> Styling Settings >> Custom CSS:

    div#secondary {
    background: #000;
    }

    Replace the color hex value to the one of your choice, you can find color hex values for the colors in the link I posted above. If this doesn’t work could you please post link to your site so I can take a look?

    Best regards,
    Bojan

    Great thanks, that should work. However my Albar settings seem to have disappeared and I don’t know why! the tab still exists on the menu, but when I click into it, it has the different menu tabs (General, Slider, Styling, etc) but there are no settings visible…

    Hey there Roger,

    I’m not sure I’m following there, could you please post screenshot of your settings so I can compare it to mine. This is how it looks on my end http://screencast.com/t/sMUKdGRHDDv.

    Yeah mine used to look like that but it’s changed for some reason.

    Hey again Roger,

    Could you please try testing for possible plugin conflicts. Disable plugins one by one and see if one of the plugins is causing this.

    You can also try renaming the /plugins/ folder which will do a soft deactivation on all plugins and providing you donโ€™t open the admin plugin page they wonโ€™t become deactivated in the database. You can then create a new /plugins/ folder and either move the plugins across one at a time or in batches whilst continuously testing.

    Let me know if you find out anything ๐Ÿ™‚

    Best regards,
    Bojan

    That’s great thanks, it was the ‘Really Simple Events’ plugin.
    I applied the code, but the bottom of the sidebar is still white

    Hey there Roger,

    Would it be somehow possible for you to post link to your site so I can take look? What exactly do you mean when you say that the site is disabled?

    Best regards,
    Bojan

    (@roger-berkeley)

    I have it disabled while I’m working on it, so that nobody can access it, but I’ve enabled it again so you can view it http://www.rogerberkeley.com/bio

    Hey again Roger,

    Thanks for that, it made things much easier so I don’t have to add all CSS in order to try to reproduce the same issue. Please try adding the following code:

    .site-boxed .site-body.site-pad {
    background: #101010;
    }

    This should cover the white area with the color that you’re using in content and sidebar.

    Hope this helps ๐Ÿ™‚
