    Hello:

I just changed to this News Desk theme for my blog. I am having an issue, I added a metaslider to the header page. And I want to showcase 4 different images from my gallery in a slide show that are not associated with my posts. But when I do this. It still shows a big featured image spot below it. Is there a way to remove this big space holder for feature image? I just want the header page to show the slider, with the new images and then the posts below with featured image next to the text. Please visit my blog http://www.withurfeet.com and you will see what I am referring to. I like the way the posts are outlined with image on the left and text on the right. But I want to remove the BIG featured image (place holder) in the middle.

    Please, does someone have ideas?
    Thanks,

    Hi feliciat76,

thanks for using MH Newsdesk lite.

You don’t need to modify code for this. Please have a look at the theme documentation. You could create a static front page, assign the widgetized “Homepage” template to your static front page and then place widgets on the front page as you like.

Thanks! This worked! I am following the theme documentation format you provided but how do I create the 2 rows of category posts w featured photos that appear to be part of “Home 1”? This is awesome but I am not sure how to set up this layout. Is there a tutorial for this specifically? The format lists MH Posts Grid, this is also part of Home 1. I am in widgets and I am not sure how this gets set up.

    I appreciate the help…
    Thanks,

    Michael

Sorry, but the “MH Posts Grid” widget is part of the premium version of MH Newsdesk and not available in the free version. In the free version of the theme you have available “MH Custom Posts”, “MH Posts Large” and “MH Recent Posts” to build your front page.
