  • Great theme but when making the header to your dimensions it stretches and skews the header.

    Can this be changed? Or advice given how to get the banner I want in perfect alignment?

    Thanks Fiona

    Thanks @thrivewithfiona and @di2006 for using my theme.

    Can you both tell me the size of the image you are using and the browser used to view the webpage? And if possible can you send the screenshot of the problem ?

    Hi @falguni!

    I am on safari (tho I have checked on other browser Firefox).

    I have set a header image to the specs suggested on the theme 1600 x 400. (Although I was wanting to reduce down the header width slightly to 300/350px). I have not selected to crop the image on attachment.

    I can’t attach a picture on this email.

    This is not my site but a test site where I have added your theme and out in an image of 1600×400 – not what the end result will be!

    If you could let me know as soon as possible as it is for a client site I have to start work on soon! Kind regards and thank you for the response, Fiona

    Hi Fiona,

    I checked the url you gave above. The image is not skewing in that check. But the text in the content is not fully visible.

    What is the size of the image? If your image width is larger than 1600 then it may be possible that the content you want to display is going out of screen.

    Falguni

    Hi Falhuni, it isn’t skewing but the header isn’t displaying the full content.

    The dimensions of the header is as specified on the theme -1600 x400.

    If you look at the test pictures old customiser you have set, these pictures are cropped when displayed too.

    I think it is something to do with how the header is set in the theme?

    Hello Falguni —
    I made an image 1400 x 400 and it fits perfectly as header across the screen in MS Edge. Then I tried two things: putting the bottom half of the image in the background; and putting the full image in the background. In both cases, the image extends only 7/8 of the way across the page. I thought they would stitch; both are 1400 wide. The menu options aren’t on aligned on the right border either. I’m sure it’s an easy fix. Where should I start?

    Hello Falguni —
    My header image 1400 x 400, when I loaded it, came with a suggestion to crop. The background image is also 1400 width, but no suggestion to crop. It shrinks by 1/8 togive plain background color on one or two sides, depending if you choose center or not. I would love to see both header and background image line up.

    I am getting troubles with my site now. I did try lots of coding before to centre my logo as well as widen my menu bar in the CSS area and style.css but it seems unuseful.

    Hi friend, I tried this one and it worked!

    .logo {
    text-align: center;
    }

    .logo img {
    max-width: 100%;
    height: auto;
    }

    However, I have another problem with the appearance of mobile devices. Can you please give me guide?

    Hello rhadow,

    Regarding the problem of header image extending only 7/8 parts, you can resize the image to 1240×400, instead of 1400×400.

    In case of keeping the other part of header image as background image (what i can see from your website http://www.hadow.org), you can remove the header image and set the full image (instead of half) as background image. And the following code at the end of style.css:

    .site-header{
    box-shadow:  none;
    background-image: none;
    background: none;
    }

    I hope this will solve your problem.

    Hello ashley92,

    You can create a header image of 1240×400 and in that image keep your logo in center and set that image as header image.

    Hope this suggestion will help you.

    I’m having an issue where the header looks fine on a full screen browser, but when I look at it on mobile, it clips the ends and cuts into the image. How can this be fixed? I have some text on the header image that gets cut off when I load it on a mobile browser. THe current header image size is 1600 x 400. Thank you.
