Header image only on Front Page

You would have to use CSS to hide it on inner page. That’s really the only way to do it without having to modify too many files.

This is the CSS:

.header-img {
   display: none;
}

.home .header-img {
   display: block;
}

You can install Jetpack and use the CSS editor to add the above to your theme.
