Header Functionality not available

I’m trying to update images on the Masthead. Naviagtion via Appearance> Customize > Header. When I click to edit header functionality, I get a message saying there’s been a critical error on this website. Please see email for instructions. I can’t find any email sent. It’s only this page that’s giving me problems. I deactivated and reactivated all plug ins. Anyone else run into this?
