    I have deleted everything off of the template theme I don’t like – opened the header image file so it is the size it was and I want) and changing it to my header design.

    When I upload my header design is it right that I could still have a navigational menu bar either horizontal or not showing up over the top of the header?

    Am I making sense, in other words the header I am remaking is just a background image? I can still put a menu to the side or at the bottom of it on top of the image?

    Also one more thing 🙂 I am trying to make some of my header the same colour as the background of my site – on the body of the style.php the colour is listed as:

    background-color:#333;
    color:#444;

    Now on photoshop I can only have one of those numbers, and neither are the exact shade of the background of my site. Or is that more of a photoshop question than wordpress?

    Slightly confused and hope someone can offer advice – thank you.

    Yes

    Or is that more of a photoshop question than wordpress?

    I think it’s more of an artefact of photoshop and your monitor. Possibly a gamma setting. Go with #333 (the background color in your stylesheet). That way you should ensure a match whatever the settings on a given monitor.

    Cheers esmi, you are like my guardian angel 😀

    It didn’t work for some reason, so I copied my web page and pasted into photoshop and took a swatch of the colour – nicely worked now 🙂
