Having trouble with restore

I am attempting to restore from backup with a new host and a brand new WP install… and using phpmyadmin to try and restore the database as in https://backwpup.com/docs/how-to-restore-a-wordpress-backup/.

But when I try and import, it creates new tables that are not integrated into wp. It creates “wp_wft0kc_commentmeta” instead of “wp_commentmeta”, etc. which don’t seem to be recognized. The old site is gone so I cannot remake the backups. What’s going on here?
