Having Sub Folders inside wordpress install but load wordpress when hit

Hi I have a wordpress import from static site with alot of content and 2 GB worth of image, pdf, video data that sits in different folders.

So I have them all inside wordpress as well but now there are 2-3 url conflicts.

/about/ is both a subfolder with old resource files (no index) and a wordpress page.

I need some way to load wordpress pages for these selected few and not the sub folder that is also in the install directory.
