Having slider and left sidebar

Hello, in my job they asked me to develop a website that has a slider on top and a left sidebar below.

I don’t know why but my mind stacks. How to check if a theme has this specific feature, is there any plugin i can use to add functionality or it’s very easy to customize the code by my own. May the visual composer plugin will help me?
