Handy Tool for Mapping a Site During Downsizing

I’ve been a WordPress developer for about 20 years, but I’ve never left a review before. This looks to be a new plugin that doesn’t have any reviews, so I thought I’d share my good experience using this plugin.

My client pivoted her business, which meant that her website pivoted too. Her multi-layered website needed to be reduced to just a handful of pages. I’ve been in web design for 30+ years, but I’ve never done anything as extensive as this level of downsizing. Trying to get a grip on all the pages and making sure nothing on the website broke was paramount.

SiteGalaxy helped me do that. It even found a footer link that didn’t appear on the site, but was buried in the code. I never would have found that otherwise. Plus, its visual 3D association graph (much like Obsidian’s) made me see clearly that I had missed opportunities for internal links.

The plugin interface is not super-intuitive, so it took some trial and error to figure out what I was looking at. But once I did, it was an extremely handy tool. I didn’t experience any glitches, and wasn’t afraid that the plugin would delete any pages, etc. itself.

Highly recommend.
