    Hi,

I think the plugin is good from what I’ve seen and since I’ve finally figured out how to use it – I think.

I think your docs and/or plugin activation processes need to be improved though, with a couple notations:

    • Plugin activation WILL set ALL prior existing inventories to ZERO. That warning needs to be clear so that people whose sites are in Production understand they should take a snapshot of their inventory before activation OR maybe the plugin should provide this snapshot IF you cant make it not zero out the current inventories.
    • The Plugin should automatically HIDE the Stock Management and Quantity fields on the default WooCommerce Inventory tab on the backend Product info page. Since while the plugin is active neither of these have any functionality (plugin resets Stock Management to ON and Quantity to 0). In their place, the user should be directed to the Stock Locations tab to manage stock quantity there. You may consider using JS and CSS to achieve this.
    • The Stock Qty field under the Stock Locations tab should NOT be greyed out. That colouration tells the user that the field can’t take direct input – but it does and has to in order for the user to get started with their stock management processes.

I think if you fix those 3 things MOST people won’t find themselves here OR ready to deactivate the plugin in frustration.

I appreciate your feedback and the detailed observations.

To clarify, the plugin does not actually set the original WooCommerce stock quantity to zero. Instead, once the plugin is active, it bypasses the default WooCommerce stock quantity field and expects inventory management to happen through the enabled Stock Locations quantities.

That said, I completely understand how this behavior can feel confusing during activation, especially on production sites. A better approach would be to keep the default WooCommerce stock quantity field active until Stock Locations are enabled and configured. I will improve this workflow and also make the documentation clearer so this expectation is properly communicated.

Regarding the WooCommerce Inventory tab, I agree with your suggestion. Since stock management is handled through the Stock Locations tab while the plugin is active, it makes sense to hide or replace the default Stock Management and Quantity fields and instead direct users toward the Stock Locations section. I will work on improving this experience as well.

You are also absolutely right about the greyed-out Stock Qty fields. That styling creates the impression that the fields are disabled, which is misleading. I will fix this in an upcoming update so the fields appear properly editable and more intuitive for users.

Thank you again for taking the time to explain these pain points so clearly. Feedback like this is genuinely valuable and helps improve the plugin experience for everyone.
