• I have GDE installed and by and large the embedding process works like a treat. However, there are a few issues:

    1. GDE Settings seems to be broken. If I create and save a profile and later want to edit it, the original settings I made are all lost. This applies to the selection of profiles that are in the plugin – looking at any of them, shows exactly the same ’empty’ settings. The GDE log confirms this:

    05-04-2013, 10:23:50 - New profile 'enhanced' created
    05-04-2013, 10:26:34 - Profile ID 6 exists - updating
    05-04-2013, 10:26:34 - Profile 6 updated
05-04-2013, 10:27:19 - Settings update failed - maybe no changes

    2. As a result, calling profile=”6″ doesn’t appear to work
    3. Very noticeable in this regard is that Baha Indonesia is the default language for all profiles.
    4. Some the inserted settings don’t work – the most important from my point of view is page= as I have a number of multipage PDFs which I would like to show a single page other than page 1.
    5. An example of this can be seen on my website which is using the following shortcode:

    [gview file=”http://alrewasplan.co.uk/GDE_Docs/Alrewas_Parish_Boundary_Map.pdf” profile=”6″ height=”600px” width=”100%” page=”2″ save=”1″]

Any suggestions as to what might have gone wrong?

    Regards

    Will

  • Hi Will,

I have seen the issue on occasion where after profile changes are saved, the screen does not refresh properly (though I haven’t seen this issue in the current version, it’s possible it still exists in some cases I haven’t seen). I wonder if you make a change to your profile settings and save them, if you then leave the settings area and return to it, if those settings really are being maintained but appear to be lost (and then may truly be lost if you save it again in that state).

The page= shortcode does not show only a single page, but begins viewing at the selected page. All of the pages remain visible, and if the page is far enough down in the document, the display will not reflect this until the page has actually loaded. I hope to allow displaying only selected pages in a future version. The link you provided does load the viewer starting at page 2 for me.

    Thanks for your feedback,

    Kevin
