I wrote a post a few days ago and googled it today to see where it was in the results. Instead of showing “post title – blog title” the result shows “blog title – blog tagline”.

I understand that google sometimes changes the post title, but wouldn’t it be better for searchers to see the post title instead of my blog name?

I’m using the Yoast plugin, but haven’t had this problem with it before on my other posts.

The post shows the correct title at the top of the browser when I’m on it.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • I just Googled “A Weekend in Salamanca” and your listing matched your blog title.

    Hmmm…that’s strange.

When I googled it in a normal chrome window it shows “blog title – blog tagline”.

After I read your comment, I googled it under an incognito window and it was just as you said (post title – blog title).

No idea what is happening, but thanks for letting me know Matt Knowles.
