    Hi
I authorized google in the search engine section,
but google IPs like 66.249.88.148 figure in my list of IPs that landed on my “sorry” page

Ok maybe google is crawling this particular fake page, but google is very often landing on my honey pot.

While other US IP like 64.74.215.1 can access to my regular pages, witch is normally forbidden.

This is the opposite to what I would wish
    Thanks for your support

    Hi Nathalie,

Your sorry page will indeed most likely be crawled by Google.

From what I gather the ip 66.249.88.148 is not one of the ip addresses used by the GoogleBot.

You blocked the USA from your backend or your frontend?

    Hi Pascal
    Thanks for answering.
I blocked US from frontend and backend, because of many “visitors” from Colocrossing.com and other VPN
I don’t sell to US customers but I still need Google

Maybe some Google IPs are in fact disguised googlebots?
And others are passing through… but I installed also a new spam plugin, so they are not able to create user accounts now.

I still wonder why people waste their time or resources hacking websites with no big importance…

Because they can use a vulnerable site to sell illegal stuff, or pretend to be a bank or whatever 🙂

The plugin uses a different way to detect Google. It’s not by IP number because they may change after all and it would be a hassle to keep up with Google’s IP addresses.
