Google not indexing – redirect issue?

I was playing with google webmaster tools and saw that none of my urls have been indexed. Then I found that 16 urls have not been selected, with the following as the reason “URLs from your site that redirect to other pages or URLs whose contents are substantially similar to other pages”

What does this mean? Why isnt google indexing my site? I dont know if this has anything to do with it but;

My site address is http://www.firefightertraininginc.com
You can also access it by http://firefightertraininginc.com which redirects to the first address. I really dont want the second address, but is this normal?

I also found that all my pages end with a “/”
If you dont use the “/”, you will be redirected to the correct url.

Could all this redirecting cause issues, or is it normal?
