• Big problem that I can’t solve (so far). Google is using an old cached page for search results, not the actual online homepage. The new homepage get indexed but this page is not seen by google as the homepage.

Instead Google uses a cached page which does not even exist on the server anymore.
Using the exact 1st sentence from the online website in google:
“LaVida Curaçao is het platform over lifestyle & top real estate.”
it gives me the correct result:

(although I’m puzzled by the addition “>page” in the result title)
    Any help is welcome.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • It could take up to one week for google to re-cache the site after you launch a new design of old pages. I’d suggest checking the “Search Engine Visibility” setting under Settings → Reading and making sure it is not checked.

@binarywc Search Engine Visibility is not checked and something more serious is going wrong here. Re-indexing request was asked for 2 months ago for the 1st time, when I found out Google was still using the old cache for search results (and up to now still is).
In Google Search Console clicking on “live test” even shows the old cached page!

Have you asked google to re-crawl the site site in Search Console?

Also, are you using any SEO plugins? If so, check the page specific settings to be sure the new homepage does not have nocrawl nofollow set in whatever SEO plugin you are using.
